Kitchen with sliding counter
This single-family home on beautiful Schliersee Lake was built with quality and sustainability in mind. Built by the renowned prefabricated house manufacturer “Baufritz”, who just won the German Environmental Award in 2023. The owners wanted to have a modern and cozy kitchen for their new home.
The kitchen unit with charcoal grey fronts and an easy-to-clean stainless steel countertop begins at the landing of the extraordinary interior staircase. An open niche with real wood shelves offers space for all kinds of utensils. The floor-to-ceiling back wall hides a wealth of technology with Gaggenau kitchen appliances and a Liebherr refrigerator.
An architectural highlight is the gallery-style hallway on the upper floor, which creates a light-filled space up to the roof.
Beneath this air space is the black steel cooking island with an Italian travertine countertop. Toward the dining area, a reclaimed wood counter block was installed that can be pulled out or pushed onto the countertop as needed.
Materials
Black steel and an Italian travertine on top, combined with stainless steel as the rear worktop and reclaimed wood in oak.
Kitchen appliances
Oven, steam cooker and warming drawer were selected from the gaggenau 400 series. A Quooker in black edition provides water in all its variations. Refrigeration by Liebherr and the heart of the kitchen makes the BORA 3.0 Professional cooking system with surface induction and Tepan grill.
